We encourage all children to be confident, make choices, question and explore, and ultimately become happy and independent individuals. It is our goal for every child to run into school at the beginning of the day without looking back.
The Willow Tree is an exciting, OFSTED outstanding, independent nursery school for 2 to 4 year olds, situated adjacent to Wendell Park. We opened the nursery in 2010, to achieve the dream of creating a unique and welcoming, home-from-home environment where young children can thrive and develop. We strongly believe in learning through play, and experiencing the awe and wonder of the world through the children’s eyes. We focus on the key element of children being children and do this by offering a wide range of imaginative, sensory and exploratory play experiences. There are always lots of opportunities to get messy!
Our nursery school is set in a redbrick Victorian church and has its own fantastic, large and newly-landscaped private garden with a view of the park. The garden provides an unrivalled, immersive outdoor learning environment for the children to explore and enjoy all year round.
We value partnership with parents and involve them in their children’s education and in the full life of the nursery.
Our children move on to the reception classes of a mixture of local state and private schools when leaving the nursery. These include Wendell Park, The Good Shepherd, Greenside and Ravenscourt Prep. We use a range of strategies to ensure that the transition from nursery to school is as smooth as possible for children and their parents.
Enthusiastic and bespoke teaching, tailored to the children’s wants, needs and interests, in a friendly and creative environment is key at The Willow Tree.
We encourage all children to become confident and independent, able to make their own choices, and question and explore the world.
In a bright and pretty setting overlooking Wendell Park, the nursery draws its young pupils from surrounding Shepherd’s Bush, Chiswick and Acton.

At our nursery school, the safety, wellbeing, and development of every child is our highest priority. We have a comprehensive set of policies and procedures in place to ensure we provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for all children, families, and staff. We encourage all parents and carers to take the time to read all of our policies and procedures, as they outline how our nursery operates and how we work in partnership with families. A selection of our key policies is included here.
Thanks so much, Andrea
